House Debut with the Opéra National de Paris in Ariadne auf Naxos

After a stage accident forced Daniela Fally to withdraw from the first two performances of Ariadne auf Naxos, she finally takes the stage at the Opéra Bastille this weekend, for her greatly anticipated house debut as Zerbinetta in Strauss’ lush, fantastical work. Zerbinetta is one of the most spectacular coloratura soprano roles in the canon, and Ms. Fally’s previous outings of the role in Vienna left audiences and critics in awe of her “golden voice with silvery tone” and “enthralling” performances.

Daniela is joined by a phenomenal cast for this Ariadne, including Karita Mattila in the title role, Klaus Florian Vogt as Bacchus, and Sophie Koch as Der Komponist. Maestro Michael Schønwandt leads the forces of the Paris Opera Orchestra and Chorus in this Chantal Thomas designed production, directed by Laurent Pelly. Performances take place January 31 and February 6, 9, 12 & 17.
